Weiner Dog

How to get weiner dog to Stop peeing in house?

im baby sitting a weiner dog and welsh korgi for 2 months,

the weiner is male and keeps peein in the house, and the female korgi is fine.

any ideas why he would be peeing, he is suposedly house trained.

what should i do

Keep your eye on him constantly. Don’t let him out of your site. If you are watching him, you will see him start to sniff and circle, and you can run him outside before he pees.

Crate him when you are not home. Buy a crate that is just large enough for him to circle around in and lay down, but no bigger. Craigs List is a great place to find cheap used pet supplies, and smaller crates especially can be found for real treat. Sucks to spend your own money when you are doing someone a favor, but better then urine stains and smells everywhere. If you don’t crate when you are not home, then you can not stop the problem

Do NOT leave him outside. That very idea is absurd and very idiotic, and completely cruel to a dog, especially by himself in a strange enviroment. Confining to one room will not work, either, because you won’t be able to watch him, and he will just pee in there, ruining your carpet. The ONLY way to stop it is to keep him with you 24/7, or in a crate when you are gone. I find one of the easiest ways is to buy a long leash, attach it the dog, and then tie the other end around my belt loop in my pants. That way the dog can’t go away from me, and I will see if he starts to do the potty dance by circling and sniffing (or lifting a leg)

He very well may be house trained, but if he is only ever in his own house, how is he suppose to know that he can’t go in your house as well? As far as he knows, he is not allowed to potty in his house. But some dogs don’t associate other buildings as off limits, and only their own building. Plus (especially if he isn’t fixed), the new scents may be incouraging him to mark his territory.

Jerry needs no help playing with his ball.
