Advertised: “Sonic Pet Trainer” does it work?
I saw the commercial where pet owners were using the “PetZoom” to stop their dog from chewing on furniture, jumping up on visitors to their homes, sitting on the couch and so on. It’s supposed to send out a frequency when you push the button on a hand held device that causes the pet to obey commands. You give the dog a command and then push the button. it doesn’t shock, nor can our ears hear it, but the dog/cat can and they instantly sit, or get down off of furniture or remove themselves from the bad behavior including barking in a fighting way.
I am asking because I wanna know if it’s worth purchasing for the use of carrying it when out jogging.
Does it really work????
Don’t believe the animals you see in commercials…they are highly trained and will do whatever is asked of them.
The answer to your question is no, it won’t work. Not by itself any way. It is a tool that may help get your dog to behave, but only when combined with other training. The dog will hear the sound, which is designed to get their attention, and then once you have their attention you give the command. If the action is followed, and then properly rewarded (with treats for example) the dog will most likely continue to behave. But he’s not going to just lay down and look at you when you push a button like the dog you saw on TV.
A simple, “NO!” or “That’s Enough” command, followed by the command for the behavior you want will work equally as well as some high-tech gizmo with the potential to ruin your dog’s hearing. Just spend more time training and getting your dog to focus his attention on you and don’t waste your money.
