I know there are breeds of small dogs, but are there small cats? Which types of cats are generally smaller?
I adore small animals (I’m a small person myself) and was just wondering if there are any types of cat that are particularly small. I can think of a few I know that are huge, but not any that are on the other side of the spectrum. Any insight?
The Singapura is the smallest purebred cat breed, some being as small as 4 lbs., though some can get up to 9 lbs. It is a pretty rare breed though. Dogs have the largest range in size of any single species on earth and scientists have recently discovered the genes in dogs responsible for the wide range of sizes. Cats just don’t have as big a range.
