Toilet training a puppy in a flat?
I live in a top floor flat and I am thinking about getting a puppy – please note that I do not have a garden, but I work at the stables, so the dog will not be left alone for long periods during the day as it will be with me in the field.
Has anybody else toilet trained a puppy without having immediate access to a garden? I have a court yard that I can take it into, but it’s not quite the same as opening the door quickly when it needs to “go”
My other option would be to have an older dog that is already trained, but it would be nice to have a puppy to teach it how to behave around horses.
Any advice would be much appreciated, and any tips welcome as well.

Please also note that I own the flat, it is not rented 
Might be prudent to have a look at the rental conditions or the agreement with the flat when you purchased it – some say no pets.. check that first
