Can a livestock guardian dog be retrained to be a family pet?
We have a great pyrenees who is 4 years old, a wonderful dog. He currently lives out on pasture with a small flock of sheep. He has been a very devoted to them. He is not obedience trained as his job has been to live with the sheep and keep predators out. Now the sheep need to be sold and my question is Could this dog be turned into a family pet?
he would be extremely unhappy ,,, losing his “family” the sheep and then not having a job to do… poor dog..
