Training Your Labrador Made Easy
Is your Labrador scared of fireworks? Not very good for a breed renowned for being a gun dog! We’ve all seen at the fireworks displays a few dogs happily lying on the floor while the family watches the display, all the time you’re wishing you could bring your dog along with you but you know it would be too frightened.
Introducing some Labrador training is the easiest way to conquer this. Admittedly the training is picked up faster by puppies rather than older dogs but it can be done and there’s nothing to say that you lab won’t get it straight away. Desensitising your Labrador early on to fireworks and loud bangs is important. It makes life a lot easier around November time with walks in the evenings and you lab won’t be hiding under the kitchen table ever time there is a loud bang outside.
With labs that already have a fear of loud bangs you need to introduce a program of Labrador training? You need to have patience with the techniques and make sure you give your Labrador plenty of praise. We all know what it’s like to be frightened of something and what it takes to overcome those fears. Don’t introduce too many techniques at once. Concentrate on the basics and take it one step at a time. There are lots of Labrador training techniques you can use when training a Labrador to help them overcome this fear.
Knowing you can take your Labrador with you anywhere you go and your lab not be frightened is very rewarding and makes then feel like they really are part of the family.
