11 week old golden retriever crate training issues?
ive had my puppy for 3 weeks now, and he’s been just a wonderful addition to the family. now i’ve got a few issues though with his crate training, i always leave the crate open whenever he feels comfortable to go in. he’s very obedient with going out to pee and poo, but sometimes, when im about to take him outside to pee, or sometimes when i don’t catch him doing it, he goes pee in his crate! also, he still doesnt quite like his crate and he always prefers to sleep anywhere else except his crate until i take him inside at night. how do i stop him from peeing there before it turns to a bad habit?
Dogs don’t like peeing or pooping where they sleep. So my guess is the crate you have is too big for him. As for as him not liking it, just keep blankets and toys in there for him. And every time he goes into it, treat him and praise him.
