HELP! DOG MARKING TERRITORY EVERYWHERE!?
I have a miniature dachshund and hes horrible. Hes an indoor dog we live in a small apartment but were moving in a month. He goes to the bathroom outside in the back, we leave the door open with newspaper, hes 11 months old and just comes up to everything and marks his territory on it, backpacks, lunch pails, everything! So im considering putting him into doggy boot camp, but will this do anything, or will fixing him do the trick? We were planning on breeding him, proffesionally when we move. Hes territorial over food to other animals, hes a bully and ALWAYS wants to assert his dominance and its getting way to annoying now. Please dont tell me anything about i should fix him because of all the dog population, I know. Question is will fixing him fix this “marking territory, food agression, and TOO much dominance” over everything problem? Or will training? Thanks.
I get impatient with people who say that their dogs are marking, he is peeing in the house because you have failed to train him to pee outside. I suspect that because you live in an apartment, you provided pee pads or newspaper when he was a baby. If you have taught him to pee inside, he will continue to do this.
If you leave him at home when you go to work and expect him to be toilet trained, think again.
Our puppy’s need to be socialised and the lack of this leads to what appears to be an aggressive dog. Having him neutered will not compensate for the lack of toilet training or the fact that he has not been socialised or trained.
Dogs are only horrible if they have impatient owners who do not understand them.
