Where did I go wrong with training my dog? One day to the next she is a mess! Help!?
Hi guys, so long story short I have had my dog Seriyah since she was 6 weeks old. Mom was no where to be found and she started out as a foster, and we eventually adopted her. Since she was old enough to be in contact with other dogs (after her first shots) I socialized her almost evey day with new dogs and people. She cowers away from people and she is shy for the most part. Some dogs she wants to play with and when puppies come up to her she snaps at them. When she is on her leash she barks at men, and tries to lunge. Where did I go wrong? Every day she goes out for walks, exercises meets new people and other dogs. I don’t know what went wrong. She is treated well, socialized, but why does she not like puppies and some other dogs?
I dicipline Seriyah when she snaps at puppies and other dogs, but I feel like she needs boot camp. She’s only 2 years old
When I take her out I have my APBT with me and people are so scared of her, but she is the nice one, friendly to almost ALL dogs.
Yeah. I have to agree with Kelle. Bad thing when they come away from the litter too soon.
It has something to do with this but I think it is just her genetic makeup. You can’t do much about it.
Every dog I have has certain ‘difficulties’. Some not so bad. Some really annoying but I work around them.
Not every dog is genetically sound in all aspects.
Just keep disciplining her. Try and catch it just BEFORE she starts.
If I catch Launi just BEFORE she goes for the couch it makes more impact.
