What is the difference between a “Certified” Dog Trainer and a “Master” Dog Trainer?
Anyone can call themselves anything they want. While there are places you can go to school, no one organization oversees the schools.
That’s why you see people call themselves all kinds of things – trainers, behaviorists, therapists, experts, whatever….
The best thing you can do is call your breed club and get referrals. You can also call several vets, rescues and shelters and get referrals. When you start hearing the same name over and over, you may be on to someone that may be good.
It gets even worse when you start talking about the different methodologies… there are tons of those too.
