What is the best dog and cat breed reference book(s) for a vet student?
My sister is in vet school. She learns a great deal about anatomy and other very detailed information. However, she is getting very little training on the various breeds of dogs and cats. For Christmas I would like to get her some serious breed guide books she can study in her “spare” time. I don’t want a coffee table book or For Dummies version. But I suspect having pictures would be a good thing. Are there any vets out there with good ideas?
I’m not a vet, but, I do read a lot about dogs and cats..
The AKC produces a complete set of breed standards

I’m not sure if that would be what you’re looking for.. It’s definitely an official sort of guide..
I personally prefer this one, it covers most of the common breeds

Here’s one the cat fanciers association recommends..
